Masculine take on the party season

OMG it is the last day of 2015 which means this is the last post of 2015 too! This year has been very up and down and rocky for me and I personally haven't achieved anywhere near what I would like to achieve however I am very grateful this year me and Oscar moved in with each other in London yet we did live in 3 flats in just under a year. For 2016 please give me some answers and try to tone down on the rocky bits and drama, I just want to be happy and work hard.

Anyway onto the last post! As it is New Year's Eve today and all you girlies are going to get dressed to the nines for wherever you are off to here is a very last minute outfit idea. Growing up I used to be very girly girly, however now I am a bit more masculine with the outfits I pick as I prefer things baggy and more comfortable. Merry Christmas Eve! It will definitely not be a white winter here in London however as I write this it isn't just raining outside it is literally pouring - well that is typical England for you haha! I am seeing a lot of my friends posting pics of them back in Dubai for Christmas and I must admit I am a bit sad, I did want to spend Christmas in Dubai this year with my Mum and Sister but the flights to Dubai are very expensive so I couldn't I would love to be home seeing old friends and with family but this year me and Oscar will be spending it here together in our new flat - we are our own little family (:

I love this dress because of the marble effect it is so easy to wear but stands out a lot, it is not too overpowering if you are like me and don't want to wear the whole shiny sequins! VLOG #3 MOVING DAYYY

WE MOVED HOUSE! If you watched mine and Oscar's first Vlog here you would know the story of how we had to move. Me and Oscar have been living in London together for a year in January and this new apartment is infact the third apartment we have lived in and not by choice. Some people may agree or know finding the right apartment, nice landlord etc is hard and we have definitely found it difficult and sad. The last apartment - in the vlog - we moved in April so signed a contract for a year but had to leave after 8 months, as they are claiming possession of the building, this meant we had to find yet another place to live. Luckily I seem to be quite good at finding apartments and found us one just down the road same price and very nice!

Growing up I haven't really had a family home as when I lived in Dubai my parents just rented apartments, therefore I lived in three different apartments just in Dubai and now three apartments here in addition to boarding at College. Having a base and a home is something very important to me as I don't really have one, so being told to leave somewhere that has become your home or atleast somewhere you made your base is hard. I have always wanted a high ceiling, huge window, very white, loft looking apartment and that is what our last apartment was so I found it very hard to say goodbye and I still prefer the last apartment to this one atm, yet everyone prefers this one. Don't get me wrong I do love this apartment and I am happy but because we rent we can't exactly change loads, like make EVERYTHING white so it isn't exactly us but life throws curve balls, a lot of them it seems. I have said a lot of goodbyes in my life so don't like saying them, yet because I have had a lot means I seem to adapt quick. We still have some more things to add to our new home and then we will ofcourse give you all a guided tour!

VLOG #1 - our real life

Hello all lovely people I hope everyone is well! If you have followed me for a while you would know I have been blogging for a while but a few months ago I decided to make my blog a platform for both me and my now other half who I do also live with - Oscar. If you want to know a bit more about Oscar be sure to check out the Q&A about him on YouTube here. Recently there hasn't been a lot of him on here as he is at work a lot of the time and we have both been busy, however we have decided to start Vlogging on our YouTube and below is the FIRST VLOG! Vlogging is quite a strange thing, I must admit however I started to watch more and more people's Vlogs on Youtube and found it actually became weirdly addicting because you feel part of that person's life. I started my blog as a diary/therapy as like my own little space that is there for anyone who wants to enjoy it too, I never started it to become something or famous, therefore I want to record memories with Oscar and show people of my generation how fun a relationship can be. In addition I don't live near my parents or sister and rarely see them so it is also a space for them to see what I have been up to - I know it all sounds very strange - don't worry I thought so to in the beginning but now it seems natural - SO I hope you guys enjoy and let me know what you think.

I spend a LOT of my time online shopping for clothes however most of the time I make wishlists instead of actually purchasing them as that would mean I would probably be broke haha but I had a long lunch break for 2 and a half hours and my uni is next to Covent Garden so me and a friend decided to walk to Zara. Dion Lee

Last week I said I was going to do some posts about my favourite Australian designers as a buying student I am always looking for amazing garments and designers etc so I thought I would share some of my favourites with you as you may never of heard of them yourself. In addition I am busy with uni atm as I have 2 presentations - one next week and one the week after, however will try and get some new outfit posts shot this week and have that to add soon! So anyway here is the second Australian designer who I love, he is called Dion Lee, I first came across him when I watched Lara Bingle's reality show called Being Lara Bingle (don't know who I am talking about check out this post here). From then on I followed him on instagram and saw all the catwalk show images each season. He reminds me of an Australian Alexander Wang - his garments are quite sportswear chic but also have amazing structure and experiments with silhouette - a lot of his collections look like they were inspired by the sea which could very much be taken from the typical Australian lifestyle of surfing as an inspiration. I very much want all of the clothes he makes and one day I WILL buy and wear his amazing clothes or even walk his show ;)

Most fashion blogs are all about outfit posts and tumblr inspiration but as a fashion buying student part of my course is mood boards and ofcourse fashion buying means you need to have your eye on different designers you would want to buy! I did a post about one of my style inspirations last month - Lara Worthington here, who is Australian so thanks to a bit of stalking of her as I do I found some amazing Australian designers that she wears. I decided to put together some mood boards for each designer and to open your eyes as readers to some designers you may not of heard of before. To begin with I start off with Christopher Esber, founded his brand is Sydney in 2010 and in such a short few years has built a global reputation for his look of tailored, fresh, crisp, clean and beautiful pieces. In addition he has won a whole lot of awards including Vogue Italia's Most Talented Designer 2015.

In my opinion his clothes are an amazing take on transforming mens tailoring into the woman's silhouette and making sure that masculine look is still catered for. Very sophisticated and contemporary - they are all very simply but have amazing shape and texture. He is redefining minimalism! His designs are so relaxed which makes them easy to wear yet you would definitely stand out in a crowd and be praised on your outfit. I WANT EVERY PIECE!!!

On some of my last posts I was wearing makeup done by an amazing makeup artist called Gabriella Floyd. Healthy Chocolate Smoothie Bowls

I did a post a few weeks ago about my go to healthy breakfast: smoothie bowl (green smoothie), however I went to East London Juice co at Boxpark, Shoreditch and had a chocolate smoothie bowl it was soooo yummy so I was determined to master my own! I came across http://www.cookiestokale.com/chocolate-ice-cream-breakfast-bowl/ however I did my own take on it, it is soo easy to make! All you need to do is blend all the ingredients in a blender then pour into a bowl and carefully at the toppings (below). Try make it look as pretty as you can ;) if anyone does make this I would LOVE to know!

Ingredients:

1 avocado

1 frozen banana

2 handfuls of blueberries 

2 and a half tablespoons of cocoa powder

handful of spinach

pour half the blender with coconut milk

Topping:

Chia seeds

Oats

Bananas

Keys to the fashion industry: iD magazine explores the history of British fashion

I am glad everyone liked my post yesterday about British Vogue's mini series on Youtube so I wanted to also post about one of the mini series on Youtube iD magazine has done. First of all iD magazine is my favourite magazine as it is all about our generation, the up and comers, the streetstyle etc so when I saw they were doing a Youtube series about the history of British style tribes I was so excited! There are 8 episodes in total, all about 12 minutes and they talk about all the different fashion tribes that have happened through British history and how they have influenced fashion.



Being a fashion buying student, one part of my job is to be a trend spotter which is ofcourse by looking at streetstyle, social media, celebrities etc but fashion also repeats itself so looking back the history and the past trends always helps - the flare jeans are back in these season and also the green Mod jackets (Kanye defs brought that back in). Because of all those factors watching this series was so interesting and inspirational again like the British Vogue one, in addition you realise fashion does a whole circle! Enjoy!

I have now started uni and am starting to enjoy it but it is ofcourse different and takes some getting used to, along with all these new people, new places, new teachers and the fact this is the key to my career! AHHHHH! Dw it really isn't as bad as it sounds - it is exciting and I am learning lots, I am actually really excited to start doing the assignments and group tasks.



Many people always ask me all the time, what I am doing, where do I go to uni, what am I studying etc and also how to get into the fashion industry. Yes I can easily give you advice but it would be to do with my own experiences not give advice in a business or technical way, therefore I wanted to show you guys this. I am sure many of you have already been watching the mini series British Vogue has created on Youtube but if you haven't OMG click on this video, watch it and watch the other episodes.



Alexa Chung is the presenter and she is showing all different aspects of the fashion world, some you may already know about, others you won't however you may think you know about some yet this series will show you different. This video I have attached personally means something to me as I am studying Fashion Buying so it was amazing to watch and listen and even learn! My style inspiration

What's the key to a good blog? I believe the key to a good blog is that it is visually stimulating, has good writing and is personal. Blogs are meant to be about the person who is writing it ofcourse, however I believe that many bloggers just post outfit posts as they think that is the point however I started my blog as basically a diary and I became a blogger when the world didn't actually know much about blogging, as there were very few, but now basically everyone has a blog. I know I am not so famous or successful yet I have worked very hard and been given some amazing opportunities so I love blogging and want to continue for myself,

Raw chocolate

I am a complete chocoholic and will always choose sweet over salty, however if you give me the biggest dairy milk you can buy - you know that one bigger than your face - I will eat it in 5 minutes and I am not kidding. Even though I love my chocolate I am a very big health freak so I decided to Google raw chocolate. I then came across Protein World's raw chocolate fudge - the recipe can be found here http://www.proteinworld.com/recipes/raw-chocolate-fudge/ - the only thing I did differently was use maple syrup instead of honey, I used about 30g.

It is seriously the easiest thing to make and when you blend it all together it looks like brownie mix but nothing has been cooked! I didn't have a rectangular tin to pour it in so I used the circular tin shown in the picture above. They are soooo good and so very moreish trust me! I want to try the recipe with peanut butter instead of almond butter next - maybe they will be like Reece's pieces. Do let me know if any of you make it and your feedback. 

New Nails, New Look

I am back and I am determined to be back for good! Determination and inspiration is definitely something I have however life is something that is very unpredictable, I am off to University at the end of this month so been preparing for that. In addition it has taken me a very long long time to redo my blog - I have redesigned the theme and I have also meshed both my original blog - vintagerunways into this new blog vintagerunwaysxomh so please feel free to check out my old content. I haven't completed transferring all my old posts so that is still on the agenda. Anyway I do hope you like the new look and I am seriously going to try my best to keep up with it like I used to.

So for the first post back I decided to show you all my new favourite nail colour, as Summer is coming to an end and Autumn is approaching this Chanel 505 Particuliere nail colour is perfect for this next season. However I actually can't take credit for it one of my gorgeous friends picked it up for me - she definitely knows me very well so thank you to her.

Finally London you are cooler and I can sleep better and I am wearing a fluffy jumper right now - but with shorts might I add. Regarding our blog posts I would like to add that all the famous bloggers out there have quite a bit of money or atleast earn some, me on the other hand am a student and I don't get to buy new clothes often atm so I am kind of finding it hard to blog as I want to be able to blog things you guys can go out to the shop and buy like right now, however I can't. Please bare with me as I will hopefully be able to get some new pieces soon. I hope you guys still see inspiration in what we wear not just the clothes themselves - the whole styling instead.

Hey lovelies so here is another post of me and Oscar matching as usual. Remember that stage like 2 years ago when Boy London was THE thing, I jumped onto the bandwagon and bought quite a bit from Boy London. Anyway 2 years later I still love it and now I have a boyfriend who loves it too. Boy London is a unisex brand so Oscar was so happy when he first saw these items in my wardrobe and tbh some of it looks better on him than me anyway as they are practically guys clothes. The combo I am wearing is my favourite Boy London pieces because they are so comfy and all black and white.

Hey guys Oscar did his first post and I hope you guys liked it. We will be doing some outfit posts together and some separately. Anyway this outfit post is of some clothes that we literally threw on, Oscar spontaneously was craving a Bubble Tea so we just put on some clothes and went to get some. I was born in Singapore so have always loved Asian food and drinks so when I came across Bubble Tea in Dubai a few years ago I was hooked. I got Oscar to try Bubble Tea one time we were in Brighton and again he is now hooked, more than me I think!

My sister has been living with use for the past month so has been nice to have a girly roommate, poor Oscar in a house of girls! My sister LOVES Primark, she feels very deprived of it living in Dubai so she had to go while she was here. I went off to Primark with her and I haven't been to Primark in years, I went through a Primark fad when I was 13 but haven't really been since.

Considering I don't usually buy Primark I was pleasantly surprised buy some things I found so did buy some but my sister ofcourse bought more. I may be the only person in London at the moment who doesn't like the hot weather. I grew up in Dubai and it is considered my home however I really don't like the heat and couldn't live without my AC on the whole time. Now living in London I am content with the cold weather and wearing chunky knits, however now it is Summer England has decided to have a heat wave. Graduate Fashion Week 2015

Hi all so sorry again that I have been blogging however I have been finishing my exams but I am FREE now and finally finished with my A levels. Even though I am an art student and have always wanted to work within the creative and fashion industry I have always had an interest in psychology. I have always been the nerd watching lots of documentaries about very deep subjects along with things about psychology, and reading up a lot about it. Everyone who knows me knows I psychoanalyse everyone and every situation so I am sorry it I go call psychology on you in a conversation. In addition I am very good at reading people and can 'read' you very quickly - I did that to Oscar the first time I met him and he got really freaked out because I completely got who he was on point.

Hi people who read the things I blabble about - first of all I wanted to state that as always I am sorry I haven't posted for a while as a full time student I wish I had the free time to blog everyday but unlike other known bloggers out there, blogging has always been something of a hobby of mine. I would love to be some well known name with a lot of following but that takes a lot of time and also money, as a student I can't always go out and buy new clothes (I really wish I could) I live in England while my parents live in Dubai so I budget for myself over here, being as much of an 'adult' as I can be. I have just got into university therefore as I complete my exams and finally finish A levels I can maybe/hopefully have time to fulltime blog and who knows

I really do wear baggy tops/jumpers - this one above falls off my shoulder but I guess I like that it is what I know. Today was another really nice sunny and warm day in London so my feet and knees came out to play - my sister and cousins for that matter call my shoes some horrible, stupid names however I seem to like these weird slipper looking shoes so I put them - they are from Zara if you wanted a pair!

H&M shades of grey

For once in my 'teenage' / 'adulthood' life I can safely say I have actually been going out of the house with no makeup on or just a tiny bit of foundation like in these pictures. I feel much more fresh faced and have actually been getting compliments from people if you watched my youtube video about my biggest insecurity, which is my skin, then you would know what I am talking about. H&M Haul Video

Been busy as usual and that is always my excuse to not post but it is the truth. In addition I don't usually have someone to always take pictures for me as my boyfriend is at work, that is why it is much easier for me to do videos, I know I am sat in the same position on the floor in my room talking to a camera but I promise I have some ideas for new videos which do involve other places. Anyway here is a video I did about the HUGE H&M delivery I received - the box was so big I could fit inside it! I have put links to all the purchases below the Youtube video - most people I know don't shop at H&M as they don't usually find anything so mostly go to Zara or Topshop. I am most defs a Zara shopper but not a huge fan of Topshop, instead I shop at H&M. I hope this video shows you how you can find some amazing stuff and they are not expensive at all! My biggest insecurity

Hi guys having quite a hard few weeks so that's why haven't been up to blogging sorry! Anyway this was a video I did a few weeks ago and didn't post as have been busy but here it is! I guess what I am doing could be taken different ways I am pretty sure some people will make fun of me or comment on "how disgusting my skin is" but that's what people do they judge! However I do hope that this may help some people out there who are going through the same thing as me and feel as insecure as I do - for those people I want to say it's ok, I understand, you aren't alone and it will get better I promise however you have to do something about it and it will take time. I personally can be very impatient when it comes to resolving things to do with my appearance so I get it but it will happen! I hope this does inspire people other people who aren't interested sorry for being who I am!
